Carol Rubin has painted in the Washington DC area for many years. Her paintings, primarily landscapes, seek to translate her sense of area spaces through hightened color and bold composition. Rubin seeks to interpret light and shadow through a broad array of saturated and muted tones, yeilding richly atmospheric views of the everyday.
Rubin has shown her paintings at the Studio Gallery, Kentlands Mansion, River Road Unitarian Gallery, the Art League Gallery at the Torpedo Factory, the Yellow Barn Gallery, Barnes and Noble, and Georgetown University Hospital.
Rubin studied art at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Washington Studio School. She teaches painting to adults and children in the D.C. area. Visit the artist at: carolrubin.com |
